So, how was you X-moose? Did you get everything you wanted? I didn’t. I received the proverbial coal in the stocking. Telle est la vie.
I think I’d mentioned my Karate Monkey frame is in. If not, well, there you go. I’ve got a local bike shop tracking down some components. I originally thought Hammer Schmidt. Karate Monkey frames are not compatible so this is going single speed, hardtail. I’ll provide the full low-down, with pictures, when this is complete.
While visiting relatives this past weekend I was alerted the family reunion in Canada is on. I’ve a notion to drive my parents there such that I can get in an unsupported, multi-day bike excursion. This would amount to riding Banff National park north to south.
The winter blues are not going away. I seem to be carrying around a general feeling of anger. Not at anyone specific, just in general. The good news regarding this is my gym workouts have been going exceedingly well. The bad news is I only have one (1) disk left of Twin Peaks.
There’s action coming up soon –ish. The Spoke-n-Sport New Year’s Day ride is fast approaching. January is the month to get a dude’s entry in to the Almanzo 100 or Royal 162. I’ve been toying with the idea of putting my name in the hat for the Leadville 100 with the Highway 212 Gut Check as a back-up race. We’ll see. This coming summer is going to be full of trail building. Maybe I’ll intentionally leave my calendar open for last minute decisions regarding bike stuff.
Ride On.

Last X-moose I bought myself the disc set of Ken Burn's National Parks to watch during training. I highly recommend it. Roughly 12-14 hours of uninterrupted wonderment about all the places we should make sure to visit before we shuffle off this mortal coil.
